Booking in

i take tattoo bookings primarily through my getink.app page! i also take bookings and enquiries via email, if you would like to discuss your idea in more detail before committing to booking in.i do not accept tattoo bookings through Instgaram or facebook DMs, as it's far too easy for things to get lost.a non-refundable deposit is required to book in, which will come off the total price of your tattoo (for example, if your tattoo is £100 and you pay a £30 deposit, you will only pay £70 at your appointment).sending an enquiry does not lock you in to making an appointment - your appointment is only locked in once the deposit is paid.

Rescheduling/Cancelling your appointment

If you need to reschedule your appointment to a different day, I’ll need at least 48 hours notice in order for you to use the same deposit for the new appointment - this is studio policy, and gives me a chance to fill the spot.rescheduling with less than 48 hours notice, rescheduling multiple times in a row, or cancelling the appointment will mean you’ll lose the deposit, and you will need to pay a fresh deposit before I book you in again.if i have to reschedule your appointment due to an error on my part, i will honour your deposit regardless and you will not have to pay any extra.

Pricing

as a junior artist, my rates are as follows:£30 minimum set-up (<30 minutes total tattooing time)
£50 hourly rate
£300 full day rate (6+ hours)
these prices apply to my flash and custom work, so you can take a look at my flash to see what kind of price range your piece will fall under if it's a custom piece. i will always let you know the estimated total of a tattoo before you book in, so that there are no surprises on the day.if you have a pre-determined budget going in, i am more than happy to work within that to the best of my ability - please let me know in your initial enquiry, so that i can let you know what's possible within that limit!

Payment

i accept payment in cash, bank transfer or paypal (friends and family). i can also take card payments through getink.i am also happy to take payment for your tattoo in full upfront or in pre-agreed instalments, as long as i have the full total cost by the day of your appointment. any payment made towards your tattoo is non-refundable, so please keep this in mind as if you cancel or reschedule at short notice, i won't be able to refund your payments.

FAQs

How much is a custom piece?

This completely depends on the size, placement, and amount of detail you're after in your design! as mentioned above, my minimum set-up fee is £30 (for very small/simple tattoos that will take 30 minutes or less); my hourly rate is £50, and my day sit rate (6+ hours) is £300.My flash prices will give you a pretty good guideline for how much your custom design will cost (i charge about the same for flash and customs), but please feel free to drop me an email if you want to get a quote before committing to booking!

Can you draw a custom design for me before I book in?

I don't start working on custom designs until a deposit is paid (or an appointment is confirmed in the case of same-day walk ins), sorry! this is to avoid potentially spending hours working on a design only to then have people not book in.if you're uncertain if your design is within my drawing ability or will work in my style, please just ask, and i'll let you know if i think it's doable! i can always recommend artists who might do a better job if i don't think i can do it justice.

Will I see a design before the appointment?

for a custom design, I will send you a clean sketch with rough colours (if applicable) ahead of your appointment - I aim for at least a week before if possible - so that you can get a feel for the final piece and request any major changes if needed. However, I don't show fully completed custom designs until the day of your appointment, to avoid my designs being taken to a different artist.

Can I change the design idea, or ask for edits to an existing design?

of course! you can request minor changes to all designs (including flash designs) up until the day of the appointment. For major changes, I will need at least a few days' notice as a major change might require several hours' work.If you're unsure whether the change you want is a major or minor change, please make sure to ask a few days in advance just in case! Please note that I may refuse changes if I don't think they will work for your tattoo, but I will make this clear and explain why if this is the case.

Can I bring a friend with me?

Yes! I do ask that you only bring one friend, as my area is shared and gets crowded pretty quick. Choose your favourite ;)

Can I request specific accommodations?

absolutely! i'm autistic and ADHD myself (as are most of the other artists in our studio), so we completely get it.if you have specific accessibility needs, please let me know when you send your enquiry and i'll be more than happy to meet them to the best of my ability. for example, i'm happy to photograph my space for you, give specifics on what to expect on the day, set up a private appointment for you, etc.we have some soft toys in the shop that you're more than welcome to hug if you need, as well as a TV if you want to watch something. you're also welcome to bring any comfort items, fidget toys, headphones, your switch/steam deck - whatever you'd like to keep yourself busy, as long as it won't get in the way of the tattoo or be too distracting for myself or others.for longer sessions, i do have numbing spray/balm available to help manage the pain, and we can take as many breaks as you need through the day.

Do you offer quiet/private appointments?

absolutely! i'm more than happy to do quiet appointments - please just let me know in advance if that's something you'd like, and feel free to bring headphones if thsoe will help - no judgement!if you'd like a private appointment, please let me know as far in advance as possible - at the moment, i can only tattoo with my mentor present in the studio as i am still a junior artist, so i just need to make sure she's also available on a day where no-one else is booked in.(she is extremely lovely and will sit upstairs out of the way, don't worry!)

Can I use numbing cream?

yes - we recommend that you use TKTx gold. please don't use random numbing creams from amazon, they don't always work and could cause issues with your tattoos.please apply your numbing cream an hour before your appointment and cover with clingfilm, and i'll clean it off for you at the appointment - this just ensures you get the maximum amount of use out of it.we tend to find tktx lasts about 3 hours, so i would personally only recommend it for shorter sessions - once it wears off you'll feel everything i've already done as well as anything i continue doing all in one go, so please keep that in mind!

before your appointment

eat something!

this is probably the number 1 most important thing you can do - if you don't do anything else to prepare for your appointment, please make sure you eat before you arrive. trust me, i've tattooed myself on an empty stomach and it feels a hundred times worse than even just having a sandwich lining your stomach.for longer sessions, you're more than welcome to bring snacks, order in food, or grab food/drinks from the corner shop up the road. for day sits, we will take a break for lunch halfway through, so that we both have time to eat and recharge.

no alcohol

please don't drink any alcohol in the 24 hours before your appointment; it thins your blood, which makes it harder for the ink to stay in your skin, and lowers your pain tolerance.if you're still drunk at the time of your appointment, we won't be able to tattoo you as we can't guarantee your informed consent. you're more than welcome to go for a drink when your tattoo is finished!

get some sleep

i know sometimes this is a bit more difficult to control, but please do your best to get a good night's rest before your tattoo. i know it can sometimes be easier said than done, but the better rested you are, the easier your tattoo will be for both of us - lack of sleep affects your skin and your pain tolerance more than you might think!

stay hydrated

make sure you drink plenty of water and, for bonus points, keep the tattoo area moisturised from at least 48 hours before your appointment! you're more than welcome to bring water with you on the day as well (in fact, i'd recommend you do!)moisturising in advance is not a requirement, but it will make for a better quality tattoo (and a better experience for you!)

on the day

dress comfortably

especially for longer sits, please make sure you dress comfortably for being sat down for a while, and wear something that gives me easy access to the area that's getting tattooed. i would also recommend wearing clothes that you don't mind getting ink on, especially for large full colour work. bring your pyjamas if you like - as long your clothes are clean and i can easily tattoo you, i'm not worried about what you're wearing.if you prefer, you're more than welcome to change into your comfy clothes when you arrive, especially if it's super cold outside!

have a shower

please make sure your skin is nice and clean before you come in. i'm going to be using needles in your skin, and it helps us both a great deal if you're as clean as possible. i will be cleaning and disinfecting the tattoo area itself before we start, but to avoid your tattoo getting infected or any nasties getting into it (as it will be an open wound), it really helps if you can keep as clean as possible!you don't have to shave - i can do that on the day. if you want to shave yourself, please do it day of so it's as fresh as possible, if you can!(i completely understand that sometimes when it comes to mental health, this is easier said than done, but it really is a massive help for both of us if you can manage it!)

running late

if you're running late for any reason, please let me know as soon as you can - just drop me an email or a message to my instagram. it happens, i get it!

taking breaks

If you need to take a break, have a stretch, have a snack/drink, etc. during your tattoo, please just let me know - it'll remind me to take a break too 😅

what to bring

yourself, of course!ID, if you're lucky enough to look under 18!snacks and drinks, if you're likely to be in for more than 2 hours (eat first as well, please!)a friend, if you like! (just one, please, my area gets crowded very quickly!)fidget toys/comfort items/headphones etc., if you want! as long as it won't get in the way or be too distracting.

aftercare

Second Skin

Keep your first layer on overnight. In the morning, carefully take it off (pulling away from you, not towards) in the shower, and clean your tattoo with warm soapy water - unscented antibacterial soap is best if possible.Let your tattoo air dry or pat dry gently with a paper towel (please don't use a bath towel as you don't want any loose fibres getting stuck in it!) and once completely dry, apply a fresh piece of second skin (i will give you some at the end of your appointment to take with you).Keep this on for 3-4 days, and take off in the shower - your tattoo should be pretty much completely healed, but feel free to moisturise for a few days if it's still peeling or dry!if your second skin comes off before the 3-4 day mark, don't worry - just keep it clean and follow the instructions for clingfilm aftercare.there is a very small chance that your skin might become red and irritated with the second skin - if this happens, please remove it and follow the instructions for clingfilm aftercare.

important

please keep your tattoo clean, let it breathe (no wearing very tight clothes over it), and keep it out of the sun.We also ask that while your tattoo is healing, you don't submerge it in water for more than 30 minutes at a time (no swimming please! Baths and showers are okay.)Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions!

Clingfilm

Take off your clingfilm when you get home, and wash your tattoo with warm soapy water. Let your tattoo air dry or pat dry gently with a paper towel, and apply a thin layer of moisturiser - we recommend E45, Aveeno, or Palmer's Cocoa Butter. If you prefer, you can re-wrap your tattoo in fresh clingfilm overnight, but this is optional (though for bigger pieces, it might help save your sheets from staining!)Continue applying moisturiser twice a day, morning and night, for 3-6 weeks depending on size and amount of colour.Your tattoo will peel like a sunburn during healing, and colour pieces are also more likely to scab - please don't pick or scratch your tattoo at this point, as you risk lifting out the ink. It will get itchy - slap it if you need to, I promise it helps!

Touch-ups

If your tattoo requires a touch-up, I offer a free touch-up after roughly 3 weeks (to allow plenty of time for the tattoo to fully heal) for placements other than hands, fingers, and feet, provided that all aftercare instructions were properly followed. your tattoo may need up to 6 weeks to completely heal before i can do touch-ups if it's very large and/or has lots of colour. For hands, fingers, and feet, touch-ups will be my minimum set-up fee of £30, as these are placements that often require regular touch-ups.

I take payments for commissions either through Ko-fi or via PayPal invoice (if ordered via email), which I will send to you after we have agreed on a price.Once we have agreed on a price that both of us are happy with:Over £20: I will need at least 50% of the payment upfront before I start work and the rest when the commission is finished
